I am so excited to announce the Fall Knit Along I’ll be hosting! We’ll be knitting the Porcelain Sweater by Lene Holme Samsøe! This sweater is knit from the top down. First the back and front are worked flat, then joined in the round near the armholes. The best part is that you can try it on as you go! Then stitches are picked up and joined in the round for the sleeves. It features 3 different colorwork charts which end up making a beautiful design reminiscent of porcelain.
I created a Discord server for knitters who want to connect, and there’s a channel dedicated to the fall knit along! The channel allows everyone to post progress photos, ask questions, and share tips and techniques. So far there are over 500 knitters chatting about knitting, it’s the best!
We will spend the next few weeks acquiring yarn and needles. I bought Drops Flora in 01- Off White and 10 – Indigo, Drops Brushed Alpaca in 26 – Cobalt Blue, and Knitting For Olive Mohair in Marzipan. There are several people omitting the mohair and using a DK weight yarn instead, but feel free to check out the discord channel for more yarn type and color inspiration! I’ll be using my Knitter’s Pride Nova Interchangeable set, which are some of my favorite needles I’ve used! They’re made of nickel and allow me to knit super quickly, plus the sharp tip is excellent. We cast on September 23rd and knit at our own pace, if we can wait that long!
