join a Knit-along

A seasonal, go-at-your-own-pace virtual knit-along to encourage knitters to challenge themselves with the support of the discord community.

ON THE NEEDLES:

The accessory option is the Who Gives a Knit Beanie, designed by myself! This colorwork beanie is knit with 2 colors of Manos del Uruguay Sami, a DK weight 100% Merino Wool. Alternatively it could be paired with Marla, a beautifully marled 100% Merino Wool in the same weight. This beanie has 3 different design options to choose from - checkers, wave, and grid, and comes in 6 different sizes ranging from baby to adult.

To participate, first you'll need to fill out a Google Form, and you’ll be entered into the giveaway where you can receive some amazing prizes (maybe even a sweater quantity of yarn!!!) You can also join the Yarn Over Everything Discord Server and look for the yoe-winter-25-kal channel to ask questions and share your progress. Plus this time there’s also a Broadcast Channel on Instagram hosted by Manos del Uruguay!

This winter I’m partnering with one of my absolute favorite yarn brands, Manos del Uruguay, to bring you the Winter 2025 Knit-Along! Whether you’re up for an accessory or a garment, the 8th seasonal Yarn Over Everything knit-along will be a blast! Plus, there will be PRIZES!

The garment option is the Minas Sweater, designed by Cecilia Lalanne & Gabriella Calderini and made with Manos del Uruguay Ideal, a worsted weight 100% Polwarth Wool. With 3 color palettes to choose from (or you can create your own), your sweater is sure to be eye-catching.

How I choose the pattern:
My goal is to choose a pattern that is both size inclusive (the finished bust circumference is over 60" NOT including the recommended positive ease), gender inclusive, and features a technique or construction that challenges people to learn something new!

A lot of thought goes into this because I want everyone (or nearly everyone) to be able to knit along! Also, if the pattern doesn’t have a size that someone needs, I offer to help them alter their gauge to make it fit correctly.

“I never would have felt confident enough knitting the Porcelain Sweater without everyones help and tips cuz the pattern was SO confusing for a newer knitter.”

“I love the community, the motivation, the inspiration from other people’s color/yarn choice, and the shared experience of everyone working on the same project.”

“I love the idea of a virtual knitting club! Even though I was mostly lurking and not posting, it still made me feel like I'm just knitting with friends! :) ”
